VSCO Cam App – What Instagram Should Have Been

vsco cam app android iphoneI’ve been using VSCO Cam app for months and I must say it’s been my favourite app to capture and edit photos. What I love about is the fact that it has a clean and simple interface yet has the options of a power user, where other apps normally undermine and pick one of the two.

vsco cam settingsI feel this is what instagram should have become but haven’t, they stayed pretty much with the same options and limited filters. You get your standard filters, after you pick the filter you can reduce its contrast on your photo. Once your done you can go into more details and change things like brightness, sharpness, tone, saturation etc.

On the left is the standard photo I took of me holding a cookie, on the right is the image after a few minutes of changing some options using the app. The way the app makes money is by selling filters, although you do get a lot of free filters with the app pre-installed, I bought 3 filters so far for $0.99 or $1.99 can’t remember.
