Bought My First 3D Printer

m3d printer green officeI’ve always wanted one, except I wasn’t willing to spend massive money on it. A Kickstarter project just launched a few days ago aiming to manufacture the cheapest, smallest and most efficient 3D printer while also being really user-friendly. Their aim was within a month to get $50,000 in funding, they passed $1 million in a day.

The printer costs $299 ( ~KD 85) right without shipping and will be shipped within the end of 2014. I have 3D design experience using Maya so I’m excited to put it into good use.

Anyone can use The Micro 3D printer since according to them it comes with a really simple app that has templates and easy ways to design your own products. Keep in mind that once you run out of spool, you need to buy more. Spools are the printer’s ink so to say.[Kickstarter]

Dimensions: Print height: 116mm (4.6″). Base Print Area: 109mm x 113mm. Print Area Above 74mm: 91mm x 84mm.
