This has got to be one of those true stories that need to become a movie, not only because of the compensation reward this man has received after suing the Interior Ministry but because his story has a lot of highlights and unpredictable events. I’m going to try to summarise his story in bullet points because it’s a pretty eventful one.[Source]
- He got arrested for drug-related cases and evading arrest, both of which he denies
- The man couldn’t appeal because the deadline to the appeal had already expired at the time of of his arrest
- He served a year of jail time then managed to get released with parole
- After given his passport that he had lost before going to jail he discovered it was forged and that his passport photo was replaced with someone he didn’t know
- It was later revealed the impersonator in the photo was the man behind all the crimes he served jail time for
- The impersonator was hospitalised after beated up by his brothers in his sister’s house
- After discovering the truth the man hired a lawyer and sued the Interior Ministry for falsely accusing him and letting him serve jail time for a year
